Govt files released

Under the 30 year rule, the government is considering releasing files held on Hilda Murrell’s murder. The Home Office has acknowledged that there are at least five files which have been found which will be referred to the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Council for release to the National Archives on 31 December 2014.
Here are the details of the exchange in the House of Lords in September.
Lord Newby, the Home Office, has provided the following answer to Lord Rooker’s written parliamentary question (HL1810):

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether, following the Written Answer by Lord Taylor of Holbeach on 4 August (HL938), they will give the titles and dates of the five files relating to Hilda Murrell which will be referred to the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Council. (HL1810)

      Apparently the 7 files should be in the Kew National Archive library for public viewing in February.

      • Thank you. They seem to be giving themselves several months to edit. For some files you can order scanned copies. Is that the case for these? Hilda was blessed to have such a wonderful nephew and niece-in-law. I am sad for your suffering. England has killed and exiled those who disagreed for over 400 years.
